NVIDIA RTXA400 not working

Post#1 by Florenz1 » 27 May 2026, 04:21

Hello, we use Porteus for testing in our production environment.
Unfortunately, the new PNY RTX A400 no longer works with Porteus 5.01. I installed a new driver from NVIDIA and, as described in the forum, installed it and created the module.
Unfortunately, I still can’t get it to work.
Has anyone already created a module for this graphics card?

Many thanks

hi,on the nvidia driver page you can download the 595 80 version that is relesed on today, the driver for your video card, only you can build this version of driver because is involved the kernel modules, so if you want to try you have to have the kernel module and the devel module too,is better to try in a clean system,if you can build the driver there is a script that save the last changes so you can make a nvidia driver module.

Building an Nvidia driver version that doesn't natively support your specific video card on Linux is generally not possible.

Hello
I’ve now downloaded the driver again and created an XZM module driver for the NVIDIA graphics card using the [HOWTO]. However, the NVIDIA driver isn’t loading. The RTX A400 works perfectly in other Linux distributions. Can anyone help me with this?

I was reading in a slackware forum that the no DRM is not required anymore because they added it to the drivers.
What I do for my 2070 super is when running .NVIDIA add --no-drm. select 64bit only the --no-drm is crucial in getting it to work I found

try this one with Blaze's latest kernel for 5.01(7.0.12) : Porteus Kernel Builder (Post by Blaze #105531)
08-nvidia-595.80_k7.0.12-porteus5.01-x86_64-1_pb.xzm 513 mb
shasum: 5c4c82aebac38d14bc57df41cffd4625208fe1aa243188537b46db14b07e4287
includes 32bit(multilib) libs
untested since i don't have nvidia hardware.
