Well, Ventoy creates a tiny bootable partition, labeled "boot" and "esp," then formats the device as exFAT. You copy the ISOs there and it loads them, regardless of whether the system is BIOS or UEFI. It can be mixed with data: photos, videos, music, .doc files, PDFs, or whatever.

The problem of burning an image to a USB drive and the darn UEFI not reading it no longer exists!

Where? On the harddrive or USB drive?

As an app I assume Ventoy runs on a Windows system. :%)

SuperGrubDisk
:o :%) I've never heard of a SuperGrubDisk.

So a Ventoy USB has an EFI version and BIOS version of grub installed on it? :o Interesting. I've been booting ISOs since the 911CD days. :D

UEFI for hp or toshiba, are really bad!

in theory, Ventoy can boot fine no matter whether the secure boot is enabled or disabled. If the secure boot is enabled...

> With Ventoy, you don't need to format the disk over and over, you just need to copy the ISO/WIM/IMG/VHD(x)/EFI files to the USB drive and boot them directly.

You a Ventoy developer semerendo.cr? I don't deny booting ISOs is useful, I've been doing it since the www.911cd.net days (about 30 yrs) on my hard drives. (Windows 98, XP, 7, 10, 11) Easier than rewriting CDs or USBs. :happy62:

No...ventoy can be instaled also on hdd, ssd...etc..
Take a ssd on a usb adapter...install ventoy under linux ( also on porteus ) or
under w10 or w11...you l have efi partition and other big partition
On big partition make a dir named iso and another named ventoy
Put live isos also porteus isos or img files or vhd files with live oses like
androids or live w11 portable on iso dir....and img and vhd pugins on ventoy dir
You can run hundreds of isos or imgs or vhds lives oses from same ssd
If you have other directories on the big partition near iso dir you can put a
file named .ventoyignore with o bytes on every directory for ventoy to not
search in others directories but only in iso dir and ventoy dir
After that put your ssd on pc on sata choose to boot from this ssd and a
menu will appear with all your isos or imgs or vhd live oses to choose to boot

So, for Ventoy a USB, or SSD, has to be connected to boot the ISOs. I used to use Grub2Win. No USB, no SSD, no separate partition, ISOs can be anywhere. Similar approach if you know how to install a Ubuntu grub2 system. :)

Added in 4 minutes 24 seconds:
Or Grub4DOS.

When you buy a new laptop or pc...you can install ventoy on the ssd laptop or pc
Then you can just copy the isos and img or vhd files on ssd and after restart you
can choose to boot porteus or porteux or other linux distro or w11 portable or
primeos or blissos etc...no os instals...just copy

So, basically the pc's OS is Ventoy. An interesting approach.
