Activating a module graphically in LXDE

Post#1 by Andrew0604 » 15 Nov 2025, 01:49

In LXDE, the "Activate Module" option isn't in the graphical mode like it is in Cinnamon, so you have to create it. It's easy.

1. Menu > FileManager PCManFM

2. Using the FileManager, go to the folder where you downloaded the .xzm module (e.g., /porteus/modules/)

3. Right-click on the .xzm file > Open With > Open with > Custom Command Line

Command line: execute: activate %f

Execute in terminal emulator: ok

Application Name: Module Activate

OK

Done! Now try this:
Right-click on any .xzm file (e.g., gthumb.xzm)
Select: Activate module
Confirm → It activates instantly!

enjoy

it actually is, along with all the options for modules...
although, it seems that sometimes these disappear (after activating something) ..some sort of desktop database glitch .. maybe a pcmanfm bug..
it does seem to restore to the correct menu after de/activating something.. or running (as root) update-desktop-database ..
(simply double-clicking on a module will also activate a module)
