At first glance, I fell in love with SiriKali (DOWNLOAD > convert to module):
it's in the repositories
//packages > slapt-mod -u > slapt-mod -m encfs
it's multi-distribution
it integrates perfectly with the desktop
it's super simple and intuitive.
I also found another option, VeraCrypt, which has a fabulous app image, although I haven't tried it yet.

:> Can these programs fail, with or without a GUI... or are they bulletproof?
> Have you lost data due to these types of programs?
